Snowshoe Adventure

A few weeks ago Nik and I headed up north to visit my parents and go snowshoeing. The drive up north involved a blizzard and was absolutely awful, but the next day it was a sunny winter wonderland. A perfect day to be outside! My parents chose to don their cross-country skis and Nik and I put on snowshoes for the first time.

My parents hang ornaments in various trees to mark the cross-country trail that weaves throughout their property. This one used to be bright gold, but has faded in the sunlight over the years.

We built a fire at our snowshoe camp and prepared some hot cocoa with hot water we brought in a thermos.

Tanna and Flurry greeted us when we returned back to the house.

Fall in love Friday

This Friday I'm falling in love with this witty card, this lovely photograph, this wooden tray, and this charming necklace.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Succulents

Nik bought me some succulent trimmings for my birthday last month and I am head over heels for them. I've had some problems with a few of them, but now (hopefully) they're all on the road to success.

One of my new year's resolutions is to add more greenery to my studio space for both inspiration and atmospheric liveliness. It's amazing how much these little plants cheer up the space. Now I just need to convince myself these guys don't need all the pampering I instinctively want to give them.

Promises

The new year is already filled with promises of freelance projects and I couldn't be happier.
This ink drawing is one such project for a blog banner/header.
And then there's my over-sized kitten, Zoey, who occasionally climbs into my lap in demand of attention.

(P.S. The triangle zippered pouch is from Bookhou.)

Happy Monday, everyone. I started my week by fawning over these crafted porcelain pieces by Goldenink.
